Preguntas frecuentes: What should I bring? Apart from a desire to have a great time whilst discovering the island, bring sensible shoes (for exploring), swimming gear, sun protection, comfortable clothing suitable for the time of year and for being in open vehicles and water (cool bags provided). What about food and drink? It's important to bring something to drink with you, especially in high summer as the number of civilized stops(!) are limited. If you want to bring a snack or picnic you can, but on the full day safaris we always make a lunch-stop at a restaurant with a wide range of food where you choose what you want to eat and how much you want to spend. Are there any age or health limits? The safaris are suitable for anyone (with a sense of adventure) from about 5 up. We have had children younger than this as well. At the other end of the scale we have had many in their 60's and their 70's and even an 82 year old (who had a fabulous time), who have enjoyed safaris with us. However, please be aware that we do sometimes drive over bumpy tracks, and that there is a highish step up into the back of the Patrols so if you have back or knee injuries the safari may not be for you. In July and August, when it is particularly dry some tracks are dusty so if you have an allergy to dust you should know this. Will we see lots of wild animals, like on an African safari? When I tell people that I run safaris in Menorca I always get people that jokingly ask me if they're going to see lions and elephants! Well the answer to that, surprise, surprise is no. Occasionally we see mediterranean tortoises, which is always nice and we stop to look at them and take photos and we usually see some wild goats. We always see a variety of wild birds such as kestrals, booted eagles and bee-eaters amongst many others. Above all this is a safari to explore in a fun way some of the most beautiful and spectacular parts of Menorca. Is this one of those jeep safaris with crazy and fast driving? No, the jeep safari will be led at a safe pace. However the routes that we use will provide lots of fun and adventure. Who leads the safari? The safari will be led by a experienced guide who has been leading safaris on the island for 9 years, as well as working as a guide on coach excursions. Who drives? This is a self drive jeep safari, which means that whilst the safari leader drives the first jeep, the other jeeps are driven by clients. What about insurance? The drivers, passengers and jeeps are fully insured and there is separate public liability cover as well. |
